Hyundai Accent Gas Mileage

Hyundai Accent
If you're in the market for a new car and you have been eying the seemingly unstoppable rise in oil prices, mileage is likely more important than every. Compact cars like the Hyundai Accent have been renowned for great gas mileage without the drawback of a much higher cost like you will see in comparable hybrid models like the Prius. The Hyundai Accent fuel economy has only continued to grow more efficient, and Hyundai has made a commitment to making sure their entry level models give consumers the most bang for their buck.

The Accent is broken down into two types: The two door hatchback model and the slightly more popular 4 door sedan. You will notice slight variations on mileage, with much of that depending on the transmission type you choose. As a general rule, manual transmissions eek out slightly better mileage than their automatic counterparts. Here is a break down of the Hyundai Accent's gas mileage by model year for the previous 5 years (expressed in miles per gallon).

    * 2007 Hatchback: 27 miles per gallon city/32 highway

Going forward, the company has also pledged to increase the fuel economy of its cars. The automaker began releasing monthly mileage reports for Hyundai's sales, a first in the industry. Hyundai also debuted a concept hybrid version of the Hyundai Accent in 2006, and there have been rumors that the Accent may be ready to make the hybrid transition in the near future.
